Every pin on this map marks a real location chosen for ecological accuracy. The guanaco sits on the Chubut steppe, the condor near Los Glaciares, the southern right whale at Nuevo Gulf (Valdés Peninsula) where it arrives each season, the penguins precisely at Punta Tombo.
For wide-ranging species, we placed the marker at the site where the animal is most emblematic or best documented. The shaded polygon follows standard geographic criteria for Argentine and Chilean Patagonia.
